Patient Payment and Virtual Appointments

Cost and value of therapy

We invest our resources in those things we value most, our relationships, our homes, our cars, our experiences, our health, our peace of mind.  When the transmission or the plumbing isn't working as it should, we find the right professional to fix it.
When something in your life causes distress, it may be time to prioritize your values to include therapy. Consider the value of living without anxiety, or depression, or an unhappy relationship. You may find it worth more to your life than another shopping spree.

Insurance

I do not accept payment from any third party payers, including Medicare or Medicaid. Private pay means that I am able to ensure your confidentiality, something I value highly. It also means we will not be limited by when or how often or for how long we can work together. Those are decisions you and I make together instead of relying on decisions made by an insurance company.

I am happy to provide you with an insurance-ready statement for you to submit to your insurance company, for whatever reimbursement your specific policy allows for out-of-network services.

Other Third Party Monitors

I don't work with any third party monitors. If you need supervision, evaluation or monitoring by a court or employer, you will need to find a forensic psychologist.

My Fees

are competitive with other licensed therapists who have similar experience:
Initial diagnostic session - $185
50 minutes - $145
75 minutes - $210

Patients may pay for their sessions with cash, checks, VISA and Mastercard. Payment is expected at the time of the appointment.

Cancelled Appointments
are charged at the full rate.

I reserve our sessions to attend only to you.  An appointment that is not cancelled means that someone else was not able to receive care at that time. You can avoid this charge by cancelling your appointment at least 24 hours.

Video Sessions

For all the inconveniences we have faced throughout the COVID-19 shutdown, one positive is that it has opened the door for virtual therapy sessions to clients who haven't considered it before. It is less time-consuming than leaving their work  home in the middle of the day to come to my office. I am delighted we have been tossed unexpectedly into a new, more convenient way to continue or begin therapy.

Online therapy is available if:
  • you live in Texas
  • have a computer or tablet equipped with camera and microphone
  • you travel frequently
  • want the convenience

My contract with a secure, encrypted, HIPAA-compliant service, allows us to continue therapy when your work schedule is tight. Take advantage of this new positive.
